IRGA and SenzAgro Forge Partnership to Deliver IoT-Driven Precision Agriculture Solutions
IRGA Farms to Leverage on Technology to Enhance Smart Integrated Urban Greenhouse and Farm Projects
Kuala Lumpur 15th June 2024 – IRGA, recently announced the signing of a collaborative venture with SenzAgro, a developer of Precision Agriculture solutions based out of Sri Lanka.
IRGA, which has been developing a range of digital solutions for the agricultural sector to support plantation and farm management and oversight, intends to leverage on SenzAgro technologies to enhance the capabilities of its digital products. In its efforts to support agricultural business owners achieve better productivity and sustainability outcomes, SenzAgro has developed its own proprietary brand of Smart Technology solutions which utilise sensor-based IoT technology. SenzAgro serves over 10,000 farmer's across 9 countries. Among some of the key features that its smart system provides includes real-time data capture of temperature, humidity and soil moisture, as well as smart irrigation for better soil moisture and water management. All monitored and controlled form its digital platform and mobile applications.
The market for IoT solutions in the agricultural sector is expected to grow from USD 18.43 billion in 2024 to USD 71.5 billion by 2032, with a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 18.52%. The use of IoT-based smart farming solutions allows plantation and farm owners to closely monitor the conditions of crops as well as optimise the use of resources. This not only improves the quality of agricultural produce and productivity of yields, but also has positive impacts in terms of sustainability.
IRGA intends to leverage on the SenzAgro platform to support the development of its digitally-driven solutions, which includes the Smart Integrated Urban Greenhouse projects that IRGA Farms has been prototyping for household and commercial customers. The system, dubbed as URBi, aims to provide customers with fresh urban organic produce supported by Smart Monitoring technology applications.
As part of the agreements signed, both parties agree to collaborate to ensure that implementation of the IoT and platforms successfully reaches customers within the agricultural sector. IRGA will leverage on its network of customers within the farming and plantation sector with exclusivity in Malaysia and exploring Asia regions to represent, support and jointly deliver precision IoT farming solutions to the global market.
